Frequently Asked Questions

What kind of fishing do you do/ What kind of fish do you catch?
-Here at Indigo Fishing Charters, we primarily focus on sight fishing from a poling skiff. Typically, we are fishing three feet or less of water looking for Redfish. Redfish have a wide range and can be fished year-round throughout out the tide cycle (on average 8 feet of change in 6 hours). We can target redfish pushing around large mud flats or creeks around low tide or up on the grass flats tailing in certain times of the year. The fishing we do is very visual and can be extremely rewarding. We also target other species such as speckled sea trout, sheepshead, triple tail, cobia, and jack crevalle during certain seasons. All of these species can be targeted with a fly rod or light tackle spinning rods with artificial lures.

Where do you fish?
-We operate out of Beaufort, SC for all of our fishing trips. Beaufort has a number of boat ramps we use depending on the conditions and is only a short drive from Savannah, Hilton Head, Bluffton, and Charleston.

Can we keep the fish?
-At Indigo fishing charters, we practice catch and release for all species and trips. We have an incredible fishery here in Beaufort, SC, but we would like to see it continue to flourish for generations to come. As cheesy as it may sound, we like to tell people the fish are our friends and business partners. Usually it is frowned upon when you start killing friends and business partners.
